I got the Beef Rendang Rice Plate with a cold Teh Tarik, and also tried the Roti Prata with curry. The beef rendang had a nice spicy kick, and the beef was incredibly tender. I also loved the fried egg. It was my first time trying the peanut and anchovy topping, and while the flavor was a little unusual at first, I ended up really liking it. It wasn’t overly fishy at all. The rice was well-seasoned and paired perfectly with everything. The roti prata was flaky and delicious. The curry was a bit too salty for my taste, although I’m not sure if that’s just how it’s traditionally made. The cold Teh Tarik was really good too—it has a unique flavor that’s hard to describe, but I enjoyed it.

Authentic Indonesian/Singaporean food and delicious. The satay is a MUST and nothing I have ever had before comes close because it’s not peanut butter sauce, it is true dark Asian peanut sauce that has depth of flavor that you can’t miss. We also had Singapore Laksa that has a lighter sweeter base with the corn than the Soto Indonesian curry, which I preferred, but both exceptional. Also the Indonesian classic beef Rendang with peanut anchovy curry covered rice. This deserves the high ratings and you may have to wait for a table if you come at peak hours. Amazing!

The milk tea with jelly is a must-try! We ordered 3 dishes for the two of us: Roti Prata: The sauce has a strong, delicious flavor. Just dip the roti in and enjoy! Chicken Rice and Egg noodle were good, but in my opinion, the chicken was a bit too sweet.

5/6/26 Came here for the umpteenth times, this time for a take-out lunch. I ordered the Nasi Campur (8/10) and gado gado (8/10). The rice dish has a bit of everything: fried chicken bites, Chinese sausage, BBQ pork, egg and topped off with gravy. Gado-gado is salad dish with cabbage, bean sprouts, fried tofu with peanut dressing which is amazing. There's no street parking, so the closest parking is First street parking structure behind the restaurant. It's accessible from a side street on Garfield or First street. There are plenty of table seating in the restaurant with Indonesian/Malaysian decor. The service is adequate, depending on how busy they are the food normally comes out quickly.

I hadn’t been to Borneo since they expanded the restaurant. Today my Indonesian friend came down from the Bay Area, and we wanted Indonesian food, so we came here. We parked at a nearby city lot, and there was no wait on a Friday night. The expanded space feels much more spacious, and the colorful doors on the wall make the interior feel lively. Since it’s Friday during Lent, we were looking for vegetarian options. The staff told us we could substitute tofu for any protein, which was great. We ordered roti, chicken satay, kwe tiau siram, Indo-style fried rice, and cendol. Everything was delicious, and we were happy with all the dishes. Solid spot for Indonesian, Malaysian, or Singaporean food in the Alhambra are
